1987 VL Commodore owned by David Darwin, fitted with an RB26DETT engine from an R32 GTR.

Since 1999 the car has undergone many changes, including the major GTR engine fitment. In standard trim with only a HALTECH E6S fitted the car made 200KW at the wheels on regular unleaded fuel and 10 PSI boost! The huge truck intercooler helps with the intake temps.

All welding and fabrication work was done between Acott Race Craft and a mates home. Without there assistance the car would not exist.

Midway thru 2000 a camshaft was broken, so a pair of high lift cams were brought along with adjustable gears.

A 9" diff was also installed at this point, however the one piece tail shaft decided to let go on the dyno, causing major damage to the floor of the car and workshop. Scared the shit out of us too!

With the car now living at Acott Race Craft a full two piece V8 supercar tailshaft was installed.

Four piston calipers and 13" front rotors were also fitted, requiring a new set of 17"x8" wheels, note: the best brakes ever!

On 15psi boost the car was now unbelievable, however one day before Ararat Hillclimb, an exhaust wheel of the back turbo broke off.

Not wanting to give up, some second hand parts were used to rebuild the turbo, however it didn't spool up properly so boost was limited to 9PSI.

With WBD at the wheel the car still blew the competition away winning the class!

Midway thru 2001, a pair of high flow T28's were fitted giving the car a new life.

A new way of driving was needed as it was now undrivable on 15PSI.

Current estimated power is over 450HP, with 550cc injectors to be fitted so that will soon go well over 500.
